WHAT TIME IS IT?
It was the wise men in l Chronicles
12:32 that had understanding of the times. They were the children of Issachar.
What time was it? It was time for a change, and a decision had to be made.
Someone needed to know what Israel should do, and the children of Issachar were
people of great wisdom.
In Ester chapter one, we see that the wise men
of that time were called to make a decision. Queen Vashti had rebelled against
her husband the king. She refused to be put on display once again because of her
beauty. So the wise men were called in to decide what to do about. Because queen
Vashti had now dishonored her husband, they had to prevent the other women from
following in her footsteps. When they presented their words to the king, he took
their advice, therefore queen Vashti was no longer able to come before the king.
He gave all that belonged to her, to another, in the person of Ester. What time
was it? It was time for a change.
Even the birth of Jesus caused a visit
from the wise men of his day. Those wise men knew the time of the stars (Matt.
Ch. 2). When they saw the star in the east, they began to follow it, why?
Because they knew it was time for the Messiah to be born.
What time was
it? It was time for a change.
What time is it now people? It's once
again the time for a change. It's time for a coming together in unity as all of
Israel made a wise decision, came together under king David's leadership, and a
positive thing happened, they worked together. It's time for a change in our
homes, just as the case was in the king's castle in Ester chapter one. Husbands
and wives are to love, honor and respect one another. King Xerxes was not
showing respect to his wife when he put her on display at his wild parties. The
queen was tired of it, and refused to obey him this time. Although her decision
caused her to be banished from the king's courts, yet it was a wise decision
that caused a positive change.
What time is? It's time to make changes
that may cause us to be rejected, but the change will make a great impact in the
lives of others, as it did when Ester became queen.
It's time for us to
allow Jesus to be the King of kings, and Lord of lords in our lives that we may
draw others to the kingdom of God by the love we have one another. As we work
together in the kingdom of God in love, people will be set free, lives will be
changed many will be added to the Body of Christ.
The wise men in
Matthew chapter two were changed after coming into the presence of love, in the
person of Jesus Christ, who is love. They worshipped him, and were warned not to
go back to give Herod a report as he requested. They made a wise decision, and
their lives took a new direction. What time is it? Its time to take a new
direction, and be led a different way. This way is the way of more love, the
kind that never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures
through every circumstance. It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Are WE
willing to be led a different way? Are we willing to allow the Holy Spirit to
NAVIGATE our every move? Jesus is waiting to add to our local assemblies as we
add more of His kind of love. THIS IS THE WISEST TIME TO DO IT. THIS IS THE
SEASON FOR IT. PRAISE THE LORD! !

In the book of 2 Samuel the twenty-first chapter, speaks of a
famine in the land. God told David that the famine came because Saul had broken
the covenant with the Gibeonites. Although there was an oath made centuries
earlier, time does not dull God's memory or His sense of justice, therefore;
punishment was served. In finding out what the Gibeonites would accept as
satisfaction for Saul's offense, they did not want silver or gold, but instead
they wanted seven of Saul's male descendants to be executed. Two of these sons
were born to Rizpah (Saul's concubine). After the death of her sons, Rizpah sat
on a rock to set up a watch of the bodies day and night so that no vultures or
wild beasts could touch them. Although it showed her devotion and love, it was
an uncommon grieving.
In our time, if we are not careful, our love and
devotion for our children could cause us much grief and unnecessary time and
pain. We must be willing to accept God's method of discipline for them, release
them and move on!
1. What situation have you faced with your children
and realized that you were responding out of your emotions rather than by the
leading of the Holy Spirit?
2. Why is it so difficult for some parents
to release their children when God has instructed them to do so?
3.
Considering the scripture, "…weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in
the morning" Ps. 30:5c. Could that be an indication that God does not want us to
cry or mourn for a long period of time?
